I’m leaving tomorrow on a 4-day trip to Colorado to visit with family and I just realized that I won’t have access to my computer for that entire time. I code every single day. I can’t remember the last day I didn’t write any code. You know what would be nice? A 500 GB USB key that I can boot from on any computer that happens to be handy. I could put my entire operating environment on it, mp3s, code, and all. I need that same-day delivery and I need it to cost less than $500. :-)

In all seriousness though, I wonder if I could get a complete coding environment including operating system (OS, editor, compiler, web server, mysql) on a 512MB USB key…
