Weekend update: Daughter 2, Dad 0
This weekend was a challenge. There are days when she will begin to cry at the drop of a hat. I call them her weepy days. “Dad, I’d like some ca- an- candyyyyy wahhhh aaaugh!” “Dad, I can’t find my pur- ple- cray- oooonnnn waaaaahhhhh!”
All. Day. Good lord.
There were moments of happiness. We saw The Incredibles today. Fantastic. I loved how they won by combining their powers and working together. The kids enjoyed it as well but they seemed to latch onto the more action-oriented aspects. During a few minutes of non-weepiness:
Daughter: Dad, I'll be Elastigirl and Brother will be that boy and you be the boy, too.
Me: Ok. What should I do?
Daughter: I'll sneak up behind the Bad Guys and then you bite them!
Me: Um, but what if they have diseases?
Daughter: Dad, they don't mind --- they're Bad Guys!
Ah. Superheroes, the game in which I am reduced from respected father to rabid, boy sidekick #2.
