The Summer Olympics have concluded. Once again, athleticism, sportsmanship, and international good will, in my opinion, just barely edged out rampant commercialism and greed. Will the Olympics jump the shark? Maybe, but I don’t think it’s happened yet.

While watching the closing ceremony, I wished one of the athletes would have called out the media on the tired question they kept asking. Namely, “Can you describe how you feel? Is it great or what?” The athlete should have responded, “Of course it feels great. Is that all you’ve got? They paid you to be here?”

I’ll miss the drama of the competition. Bob Costas, not so much.
