Very disappointed by Musician's Friend

I just cancelled an order with Musicians Friend. I ordered on July 28th and today they still haven’t shipped it. I knew when I ordered it that they were having some kind of warehouse issue but they’d originally given me an estimated shipping date of August 7th and today they still don’t know when it will ship. I’ve heard they’ve had great service in the past and the prices are good. But if you’re in the market for gear right now I’d stay away from these guys because there’s no telling when you’ll actually get it.

Update: After some looking around I discovered that B&H Photo (the place where I bought my D70) sells audio gear. Who knew? So I placed a new order with them to replace my failed Musician’s Friend order today at 12pm and I just got the shipping notification at 3:51pm. B&H rocks.

But I did see the “we’re moving our warehouse sale” flyer and thought “um… maybe not.” Nothing like ordering into what is probably barely controlled chaos, eh? Sorry your order got caught in the wheels. Out of curiosity, what kind of musical creature are you? I play bass, guitar, drums, meddle with vocals (I’m a pretty good back-up singer, anyway) and I’m also a recording engineer. Here’s my home studio. Let’s see if this works:

I’m just getting into recording a little so I bought a starter recording kit (a condenser mic, small mixer, and the connecty bits). Podcasting of some form may be in my future (oh no) but definitely recordings of my children for posterity.

I haven’t had any problems with Sweetwater or my new front runner American Musical Supply. Hope this helps.
