Strangers vs. the Spooky Eye
The kids were playing outside yesterday afternoon while I was working in my office upstairs. Through the open window that looks over our front yard I heard them start yelling, “Stranger! Stranger!” followed by the sound of little feet stomping up the stairs. Our “stranger training” obviously worked. I went outside with them and had a look around but didn’t see anyone. They explained that the stranger was far away and had already turned the corner. I told them that they didn’t have to run away from strangers so far away but just to be aware of what they’re doing.
They nodded solemnly and The Boy vowed, “I’ll keep my Spooky Eye on them, Dad.”
