Today the Girl got her last round of vaccinations and boosters until she turns eleven. We took the honest approach and told her what was going to happen and that it would hurt but not for very long. She was very brave and handled it all exceptionally well. She cried a little when the needles came out but there was no thrashing, fighting, wild screaming or attempts to escape. She screwed up her courage and took her medicine. I’m extremely proud of her. Credit to her doctor and nurse who were very friendly and did a wonderful job of plucking up her confidence and putting her at ease, as always.
She’s now cleared for kindergarten. I’ve been putting together some collages of her this week as part of the decorations for her 5th birthday party. I remember most of the events in those photos like they were yesterday. Five years goes by entirely too quickly.
