Scooter's Jungle

Went to Scooter’s Jungle for my daughter’s friend’s 4th birthday party. On the way there, my wife whips out a waiver we both have to sign before they’ll let us in. In a nutshell it said, “We’ll do everything we can to make this place safe but if your out-of-control kid breaks his or someone else’s leg then that’s your fault,” which I think is perfectly reasonable but also sad that this age of frivolous lawsuits requires private playgrounds to resort to the level of a legal waiver to remind parents that they are responsible for the well being of their offspring.

Anyway, the place, nestled in the drab surroundings of a business park, was clean and safe, the kids enjoyed themselves, and there was much rejoicing.

Scooter’s Jungle has an interesting concept. It’s a full-service birthday party center for pre-school age children. For one inclusive price you get the run of the “arena” — giant slide, bounce house, giant bouncy jungle gym, toys, and a small room just for bouncing superballs in (superballs and eye protection included) — for about an hour, a private party room for cake and opening presents, and a couple of chaperones to help look after the kids. No setup, no cleanup, no fuss. The price of convenience? From $170-$265.
