Review: Long Way Round

Originally a six hour series that aired on Bravo in the US, Long Way Round is the documentary of Ewan McGregor’s and friend Charley Boorman’s motorcycle adventure around the world. It is the best adventure/buddy film I’ve ever seen. The best part: it’s true. You do not need to be a fan of motorcycles to enjoy it. Highly, highly recommended.

That was well worth the investment since it was significantly different (not just expanded, they each had different shots and emphasized different aspects of the trip) from the show. Apparently Ewan and Charley are doing a redux this summer, riding from the northernmost point of Scotland to Cape Town.

For example, can you imagine people in whatever country you are currently in welcoming three (including Claudio) bikers into your home for the night? I certainly wouldn’t. And yet our culture is the poorer for it. Certainly makes you think…
