Radios
Since my lovely and talented wife (LATW) occasionally needs to use the telephone for, you know, actual phone calls, she decided to restrict the childrens’ use of the intercom feature to essential pages only. This put a damper on their superhero play. How does one call for backup or receive a call from the mayor without a super-phone?
So, we bought the kids a set of radios today. Uniden brand with an alleged 3-mile range. Approved for superhero duty. They certainly work well enough in the house. Only $18 US. I imagine they will be utterly destroyed before any brain damage from radio wave exposure can set in. I’m not entirely sure how I’d tell if brain damage had occurred anyway.
While holed up in our super-headquarters, I turned on the scan feature and I think I picked up the police dispatch. And then three guys chatting it up about the rain eroding the hill one of their houses is on. Very cool.
Of course, now the LATW is thinking of barring me from using the radios.
