Me and Cookie Monster, that's how we roll
I answered the phone today to hear a very young girl on the line. She immediately went into a script to tell me that I had ordered four boxes of Girl Scout cookies, that I owed her $16, and that she would be coming by today to deliver them. It was all so professional I thought I might be listening to a recording, but she responded when I thanked her and said goodbye.
And then after I hung up, I wondered if we had, in fact, ordered any Girl Scout cookies. It’s a possibility. I don’t think I did but the lovely and talented wife may well have. And as I was about to think more about it, the Cookie Monster in me said, “Hey, you! Cookie Monster here. Little girl bringing four boxes of cookies. She bring cookies, you pay. Who care if you ordered or not?”
And he’s so right.
