Little "g"

Did you notice that Google changed their favicon (that little icon that shows up in your address bar) from a big “G” to a little “g”? I think someone in Google marketing thinks more people associate the little “g” with Google than the big version. They may be right. For a long time both of my kids called any lowercase letter “g” they saw a “google.”

When I type it into the Address Bar, I type google.com, but that’s just because I’m too lazy to capitalize it. The word “google” no longer has any meaning to me. I’ve said it too much today.

We felt the small ‘g’ had many of the characteristics that best represent our brand: it’s simple, playful, and unique. We will be looking to improve and enhance this icon as we move forward.“ more on http://arbitness.wordpress.com/2008/06/05/why-google-changed-their-favicon/
