I just spent the last ten minutes picking eggshell out of the DVD player with tweezers. Egg. Shell. The DVD player survived (we’re watching Laws of Attraction right now — well, “we” being my wife). There are probably a few pieces still in there waiting for just the right moment to strike. At least it opens now.

I showed them the eggshells and asked them both if they knew where they might have come from. My daughter was fascinated… and my son confessed immediately. Well, confessed is too strong. He didn’t really do anything wrong. He was just experimenting. I showed him the eggshell and he toddled over to “Mommy’s machine” in his green dinosaur pajamas to show me where they came from. He didn’t know why he did it.

I asked him, “Are you going to do it again?” He kept playing with the toy in his hand as he nodded. “Yeah,” he said, mischievously. I chuckled. “No,” I said. He looked up. His nod stopped slowly and he started shaking his head in the negative. “No,” he agreed.
