Kentucky Girls

Daughter: Only boys are doing that job.
Me: Well, maybe. You know, girls can do anything boys can do.
Daughter: Really?
Me: Oh, sure.
Daughter: But girls can't wear kentuckys.
Me: Hm? What?
Daughter: Girls can't wear kentuckys.
Me: Uh... What's a kentucky?
Daughter: You know, at weddings, with the bow tie.
Me: Do you mean a tuxedo?
Daughter: Yeah! Girls can't wear tuxedos.
Me: Well, sure they could. Some girls. And I bet it'd be an interesting wedding, too.

I wore a tuxedo to my best friend’s wedding complete with tails and high heels. I’m a girl. I was his best “man” and honoured to stand with him at his wedding. Good for you for letting your daughter know she can do anything she wants to do. Thanks for the great resources!
