So, I have a photoblog that I haven’t updated in months. A year or two ago I was using this blog for photos and text then later decided the photos didn’t really belong here and created a dedicated photoblog. I even kept it up for a while. However, it now turns out that I simply have too much going on and I need to consolidate. And I’ve changed my mind about photos not belonging here. So.

I’ve also thought a lot about the focus of this blog. When I first started it back in 2003, it was more of a journal. It quickly began to focus intently on my children, parenting, and being a father. Lately, the focus has been very slowly shifting back to things I’m interested in that are not my children. This wasn’t a particularly conscious decision (although I did think about it a little). In hindsight, I’m just writing about the things that are interesting to me at the moment. It’s just a reflection of the things I am doing and who am I right now. And people change. So it only makes sense that the blog will change with me.

I guess I’m just explaining it all because I don’t want you to be confused when you start seeing posts about “things-not-my-family.” It’s not that I’m changing the focus of the blog. My focus is changing and the blog is a reflection of that.

Of course, I’ll always be a Dad. I’m still keen to post about the experiences of fatherhood. Don’t expect those or the conversations to go away any time soon. We visited Disneyland on Saturday and the boy shared a couple of doozies. :-)

But I’m sure there may be privacy & security concerns over sharing a lot too. Your photos & other projects are also very cool though. And like tracey, I’ll keep reading too.
