Gaim Message Blocker plugin

I just released a plugin for Gaim 1.0.2 that blocks arbitrary instant messages based on a set of filters that you can define. I created it to block the extremely annoying “AOL System Msg: Your screen name (x) is now signed into AOL(R) Instant Messenger(TM) in 2 locations.” You can download it from the Gaim Sourceforge plugin tracker.

I am extremely annoyed too and having to see this several times a day currently because of the way I switch internet connections between wired/wireless/vpn etc., and this plugin will be of great help to me. Thanks.

I tried your plugin after updating it to use some of the new API and could see it listed in the plugins page, but enabling doesn’t really seem to work. I don’t even get any debug messages. The event name might have changed, but I expected at least the debug message from the plugin_init() (and plugin_load() when enabled) to have appeared, but I didn’t see any messages at all. NOTE: Using process explorer, I could confirm that pidgin loads up perl58.dll from my activestate perl installation.
