Blender project created for the r/blender February contest “80s retro”
My concept was a plastic figurine inspired by 80s roller skating. Pictures below. I wanted to do a character so that I could learn more about sculpting, retopology, and armatures/rigging. I learned that creating characters is extremely difficult.
I created everything from scratch except for the wood texture on the pedestal from textures.com. This represents approximately 40 hours of effort spread out over weekends and evenings in February. CG Cookie tutorials were invaluable, especially the Introduction to Character Modeling by Jonathan Williamson.
