Santa is coming. And we have his phone number.

The kids had a half-day at school yesterday so the Lovely and Talented Wife took them to Disneyland with some friends. It’s like a ritual around here. On days school lets out early you’ll run into half the school there—everyone has an annual pass. ‘Tis the season, so they went to Santa’s village to visit with Mrs. Claus…

Lovely and Talented Wife: Ok, kids. Last time: settle down or I’m going to telephone Mrs. Claus and get you onto the naughty list.

It gets very quiet, very quickly.

Friend, whispering: Does she really have Mrs. Claus’ phone number?
Daughter, nodding, sadly: Yeah.

OK - this made me laugh! I have been threatening my 4-year-old recently by claiming that I will E-MAIL Santa. He’s convinced that I will and races to the computer to stop me.

  2. Zann says:

You can have them call this number. It works until Christmas.

    A fellow parent

Santa Claus’ telephone Number (toll free)
    1800-972-6242

  3. Lara says:

Is the number for SAnta real and is it working?

  4. Ann Acton says:

I live in Washington state and it does not work here, but my sister in law in New York said her kids loved it.

  5. Wynn says:

Something is wrong with the number and now you get a “blee blee blee… I’m sorry, you’ve called a number that cannot be reached from your dialing area”… or something like that… my son is going berserk! WHY doesn’t Santa’s phone number work any more???

  6. NBXROX says:

I live in PA and I get the same error message. Worse yet, I cannot find any other toll free santa number. Help!

  7. jdhwiwdfgadfl says:

i just tried santas # over the weekend and it worked but when i tried today it did not! i got this other # 314 401 5419 but that does not work now either

  8. Merrymac says:

I called Friday and got through from PA, but have the same problem now it doesn’t work! My daughter doesn’t understand why we can’t call Santa again. If anyone finds another number please post it asap! Thanks.

  9. Colleen says:

After much research when the number stopped working for me (also in Pa) I found a website named tollfreeforwarding.com they give you the nunber and a individual code for your child only after you give them your name and email. It is not as good but one feature is that your child can leave a vioce wish list message. The message is then sent back to your email. Also lands end runs a number which is 1-800-hisanta but as you would expect they throw in some advertising for themselves at the end of the message. I guess they are better then nothing (or trying to explain why Santa’s number is not working.

  10. Colleen says:

PS their is also a number that is supposed to work only on Christmas eve (all day) that is Santa’s sleigh number 1-800-796-9429. I have never tried it before and when you call now it just says that Santa is not in the sleigh yet and to call back on Christmas eve.

  11. Colleen says:

you can go directly to the santa website and skip the search on tollfreeforwarding by going directly to telsanta.com -you will still have to enter info.

  12. Marlo Brevetti says:

I live in the suburbs of NYC and the number worked when we first got it but didn’t work today. I tried the 1800hisanta and it worked! Both of my boys just love hearing Santa.
    Thanks and Mery Christmas!

  13. Jordan Alvarez says:

    WE WANT SANTA!!

  14. Jordan Alvarez says:

WE WANT SANTA!! I am 4yrs old and live in Missouri. i have tried every number and nothing works. Santa’s sleigh number did tell me to call back on Christmas Eve though. So thats what i’m going to do:)

  15. Courtney Smith says:

    what is santa’s phone number?

  16. michelle says:

I have found a number 1(800)796-9429. When I called it said to call back anytime on Christmas Eve.

    Hope this helps!

  17. sleepydays says:

SO great! Next time, I will definitely use this technique! It’s SO funny!

But my 4 year-old son only got to know about Santa this year (we are living in Singapore), so he hasn’t really digested the idea / relationship of “Santa Claus and X’mas, and X’mas present” yet. Today, I really struggled trying to get him understand why he must wait till the X’mas day and remain a good boy in order to get his X’mas present.

How nice you are living so near to the Disneyland…to kids in Singapore, just one visit to a Disneyland can be one big dream!

  18. margate115 says:

    1-800-his-anta works!

  19. Pamella says:

Here is a phone number that you can call at anytime…. Hope this helps

  20. Gayle says:

I called the Santa’s Sliegh # and it asked my to enter a secret code??? Where do I get that from when it’s just an 800# to call?

  21. Lorri says:

FINALLY . . . Or I thought, a telephone number for Santa. Again, I gather my kids around the telephone (on speaker phone) to finally hear Santa’s voice.
I dialed the lasted number I’ve gotten (1-800-796-9429) for Santa’s Sliegh and it asked me to enter a secret code??? Where do I get that from when it’s just an 800# to call?

  22. Barbara says:

If anybody else finds anything please return the letter and let me know too thanks

  29. Jennifer says:

Does anyone know what the number to santa is this year???

  30. Linda says:

We’re looking 4 it 2. Tried the #’s here, none worked. 800-hisanta reached a Land’s End operator. Tried Ask.com and Google.com - telsanta.com might be the only option open. Has anyone found anything else yet?

  31. angel says:

for those of you in canada, your child can write (or email) santa and he’ll write back (i’m going to guess that canada post doesn’t cover american addresses - unfortunately)

    santa can be reached at:

    Santa Claus
    North Pole
    HOH OHO
    Canada

good luck to the rest of you, I’m not sure what other options you have to make the experience more real for some kids…maybe you have a co-worker who’d be willing to pretend to be santa over the phone, especially if its someone your child(ren) haven’t met?

  32. angel says:

you know…upon second examination of the website here: http://www.canadapost.ca/personal/dec/santa/writesanta/santa-e.asp

it doesn’t say that non-canadians can’t write to santa…i’d say if you include an address its at least a chance, at the very least the mail will get returned and you can have time to make a pretend letter from santa.

  33. Amye says:

I’m SOrry but evertime i called one of these numbers it did not work. Why even bother. THis is supose to be fun for kids, but it doesn’t even work.

  34. ch4071 says:

this is what i was told the number 1-800-972-6242 will not start working till december 13th. that is when he starts counting the 12 days of christmas. hope this helps

  35. ijkmjk29 says:

I tried to call the 1-800-972-6242 and it just went beep beep. I will try tomorrow and let you all know if it works. Why does it seem like they are trying to make money off of Santa this year?! Takes all the fun out of it.

  36. patti says:

SANTA my 3 year old is really wanting to hear a FREE recorded message from you so I hope that one of your elves are surfing the web and can find one soon. We need some Santa cheer in Iowa. Thanks

  37. Linda says:

Thanks to everyone for the updates… not sure if my coworker has found something that works yet. I agree about everyone trying to make a buck. You would think some large company would set something up that was free, but would at least give them advertising… come on, it’s CHRISTMAS!!!

  38. Monica says:

i tried calling 1-800-972-6242 and it isnt working. talk about depressing. the 800 # for santas sleigh isnt working either. they can not be completed as dialed.

  39. Monica says:

found this on another web site and thought that this would give some insight to other parents going through the same issues as i was.

The reason you can no longer call Santa, is because this was a small company’s 800# that they set up for their employees children. Unfortunately it got out, is all over the web, and the phone bill is huge. They had to disconnect it. It may be free to us, but someone has to pay for the 800#.

  40. Connie says:

I called the 800-972-6242 number for my 4 year old son, just a little while ago , and it said that this call can’t be completed as dialed. Why put these phone numbers online if they are just gone to disappoint the children. It is always about making money to the big companies, never about making the children happy for the Holidays.

  41. Judy says:

**HERE IS A NUMBER THAT ACTUALLY WORKS AND FREE!!**

    910-396-1471
