Son: Dad, I love you very much.
Me: I love you too, son.
And then I thought I’d spread the love in my wife’s direction…
Me: How much do you love your Mom?
Son: Hmm… I love her three pounds.
She started to smile while rolling her eyes when…
Son: And I love you five pounds, Dad.

And then she shot me an accusatory glance and I ducked out, quickly.

    This was an ongoing line of conversation around our house for quite a while. N. would say “I love you 500 much”. Just be glad they still love you at all … it doesn’t take long for them to decide that they want to love other people and not you :)
