Electric Version

February 20th, 2005

I finally got around to buying some tracks from Electric Version by The New Pornographers. Both of their albums are fantastic and you should check them out. And listening to them on the headphones while the kids watch Play With Me Sesame… well, watching muppets sing “We’re twisting incognito with no time, can’t talk / [...]

Thinking of Woodie Guthrie at 3:15am

February 20th, 2005

It’s 3:15 in the morning and, rather than sleep, I’m sitting here creating a mix CD and contemplating the conversation I’ll have with my daughter tomorrow regarding a certain folk singer from Okemah who sang one of her favorite songs (of the moment), Mail Myself to You, decades before she was ever born. Has Been

September 10th, 2004

Boingo Boingo Boingo

July 7th, 2004

I just re-purchased Only a Lad and Nothing to Fear on iTunes (I love iTunes). I was torn because I already had the cassettes and for a while I thought that I shouldn’t have to buy the same songs I’d already bought once. Anyway, now I have shiny new all digital copies of some of [...]
