Yesterday, I gave the kids each a small piece of cake as an afternoon snack and then went to get some things together for dinner while they ate at the kitchen table. They were gone when I turned around. I quickly located them underneath the table, with the rest of the cake, eating as quickly as they could.
And when they noticed that I had found them, and was walking in their direction, did they stop? Of course not! They started eating faster! Desperately shoving double-handfuls of strawberry swirl into their mouths like ravenous, cakey piranha.
It was good cake, though. After that, I didn’t expend a lot of effort on a large dinner.
