Son: Dad, I hear fireworks! Me: You do? I don’t hear any but I believe you. You have better ears than me. Son: I do? Me: Your ears are young so you can hear better than me. My ears are old. Son: Parent ears only hear bad things. Me: Bad things? Like what? Son: Like [...]

Want to know the best part about Dibs ice cream?

October 20th, 2006

We recently bought a couple of packages of Dreyer’s Dibs bite-sized ice cream, mainly so it would be easier for the kids to have ice cream without making a huge mess all over the place. Total success and they taste good, too. But the best part… Guess what the serving size is. 2 pieces? 8 [...]

Handy Box (800 assorted bricks): $15 Small wheels and axles (24 wheels/12 axles in 3 sizes): $8 Extra large grey base plate: $10 I bought this setup for my son a couple of weeks ago and he absolutely loves it. It’s great because it comes with so many pieces and it’s a building set rather [...]

Does homework suck?

October 3rd, 2006

Working Dad at the Seattle PI seems to think there is a debate over whether homework sucks. Ha! Homework sucks. It’s hard for me to believe that anyone thinks it does not suck. Our daughter was getting homework in kindergarten and now even more in first grade. I don’t think I had a similar homework [...]
