Daughter: E calls me “sweet pea.”
Me: Why does he call you that?
Daughter: He crushed me.
Me: He has a crush on you. How do you know?
Daughter: Oh. Yah. K said he has a crush on me.
Me: Do you know what that means?
She shakes her head.
Me: It means he likes you.
She makes a yuck face.
Me: [...]
I just saw an ITT Tech ad showing a guy who claims he felt “trapped” by his degree in poetry. So he went to ITT Tech to learn a new skill and expand his horizons. Now he has a great career and makes a lot of money as a software engineer.
Trapped. That must be poetic [...]
My daughter had a friend over yesterday after school.
Me: Okay, you two kiddies have fun playing out back.
Wife, shocked: What did you just say?
Me: I said “have fun playing.”
Wife: No. Did you just…
She shakes her chest, mardi gras style.
Me: Kiddies. K-iddies. With a K.
Wife: Ohhh.
Wife: Good.
